Canadian authorities have apprehended three individuals, one of whom is a 20-year-old of Indian descent, following a string of jewellery store heists at two separate malls in Mississauga. Allegedly, a group of six individuals, armed with hammers, orchestrated the robberies within a span of two days.

The first incident occurred on May 9, where the assailants, wielding hammers, forcibly accessed display cases at a Mississauga mall, making off with a significant amount of jewellery.

Utilizing a vehicle previously reported as stolen in Toronto, the suspects fled the scene. The following day, while Peel Police were conducting patrols within another Mississauga mall, five suspects targeted yet another jewellery store.

Employing a similar modus operandi as the previous day, they smashed display cases and absconded with valuable merchandise.

Following a pursuit, mall security aided the authorities in apprehending three of the suspects, among them Tejpal Toor, a 20-year-old from Toronto of Indian origin. Peel Police also recovered a stolen vehicle believed to be linked to the crimes.

Toor and his accomplices are now facing a litany of charges, including robbery, wearing a disguise with intent, and possession of unlawfully obtained property. The trio awaits bail hearings as the investigation continues, with law enforcement hinting at the possibility of additional charges against the accused as more evidence surfaces.
