Man claims stale food served during IPL match in Bengaluru
The FIR has been lodged against both the KSCA Management and the canteen manager at the Cubbon Park police station.
A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against the management of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) on accusations of serving stale food to spectators during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 T20 cricket match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on May 12.
The FIR has been lodged against both the KSCA Management and the canteen manager at the Cubbon Park police station.
The complaint was lodged by Chaitanya, aged 23, who attended the match at the stadium accompanied by his friend Gautham, watching from the Qatar Airways Fans Terrace Stand.
While at the match, Chaitanya consumed various items from the canteen at the stand, including ghee rice, idli, channa masala, cutlet, raitha, and dry jamoon. Soon after eating, Chaitanya complained of stomach pain.
Shortly thereafter, Chaitanya collapsed while seated. He received first aid treatment in an ambulance outside the stadium with the assistance of stadium staff.
Following his admission to a private hospital, doctors examined Chaitanya and confirmed that he had suffered from food poisoning.
Allegations suggest that the food served in the canteen may have contributed to Chaitanya’s declining health.
