A man was murdered in Punjab's Jalalabad last week, over a dispute about beedis, a type of cigarette.

A man was murdered in Punjab's Jalalabad last week, over a dispute about beedis, a type of cigarette.

The incident occurred late at night on October 28 when the victim and another man were sitting by the road.

According to the man sitting with the victim, the accused approached them asking for beedis.

When they refused, an altercation ensued which quickly escalated into violence.

The accused allegedly repeatedly punched the victim, Pamma, on the head, making him fall on the ground.

In the morning, Pamma was found dead at the same spot. The police have registered a case and arrested one person. Further investigation is ongoing.
