Teenager dies after 'altercation' with a group of youth in south-east London

A 16-year boy was killed after he was involved in an altercation with a group of youth early Wednesday evening in London's Chelsea Green neighbourhood, in the south-east.

A 16-year boy was killed after he was involved in an altercation with a group of youth early Wednesday evening in London's Chelsea Green neighbourhood, in the south-east.

Police said they responded to a call near Thompson Road and King Edward Avenue around 6:45 p.m. and found the teen with life threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital where he later died.

Thursday morning, a section of Russell Avenue, between King Edward Avenue and Gladstone Avenue, was cordoned off as police remained on the scene. Charges have not been laid.

Police have no additional information about the victim pending next of kin notification, she said.
