Speaking to Sky Sports, Atherton said it felt that England are not in control of what they’re doing. England middle-order batter Harry Brook had completed his half-century but lost his wicket after trying to hit a Mitchell Starc short ball, which ended up finding the safe grasp of Pat Cummins.

“All of the chat around England's approach, you can sometimes forget what got you to this position. Here, it has felt England are not in control of what they are doing - in particular, Harry Brook,” said Atherton.
