“Water of Freedom” Collection Event in Brampton, Canada
03-Sep-2025.

An emotional “Water of Freedom Collection” event was held at the Tamil Genocide Memorial premises in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, organized by the Canadian Tamil National Assembly. The event supported the ongoing movement in Sri Lanka by the “Voice of the Voiceless” organization, which symbolizes the struggle for the release of Tamil political prisoners.
The program drew participation from the Brampton Mayor, political representatives, community activists, and members of the Tamil diaspora.
Organizers stressed that as Tamils, it is a historical duty to work for the release of their brothers and sisters unjustly imprisoned in Sri Lankan jails. They further called for similar events to be held in every city and municipality across countries with large Tamil populations, making it a unique form of protest and solidarity.
