President Anura to Undertake Two-Day Visit to the North

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake will begin a two-day official visit to the Northern Province on September 1. 

During the visit, he will inaugurate several development projects across the region.

On September 1, 2025, he will visit the Mayiliddy Fisheries Harbour to launch the third phase of its development works. The President will also ceremonially initiate the Jaffna Public Library development project, funded under the 2025 national budget, and participate in a special event at the library.

Additionally, he will open the newly established Foreign Passport Office at the Jaffna District Secretariat and lay the foundation stone for an international rowing stadium at Mandaitivu.

On September 2, 2025, the President will travel to Puthukudiyiruppu in Mullaitivu District to launch the “Coconut Day” development project and lay the foundation stone for the Vattuvakal Bridge. He will also inaugurate a coconut sapling production center in Palaai.
