Karnataka government takes over Bengaluru temple after donation theft allegations

The Gali Anjaneya Swamy Temple in Bengaluru, has officially been taken over by the State Government and declared a ‘Notified Institution’ under the Karnataka Hindu Religious Institutions and Charitable Endowments Act, 1997.
The decision follows a series of controversies, including allegations of corruption, mismanagement and theft of temple donations that surfaced last year.
The police launched an investigation to trace the individuals involved in the suspected thefts.
