India's Sumit Nagal failed to secure a place in the main draw of the French Open after losing in the second round of the qualifying phase in Paris on May 21. 

The top-ranked Indian men's singles player was the country's sole hope in the singles competition, and his exit means India will have no representation in the singles main draw this year.
