Rajnath Singh vows 'befitting' reply to those who dare to attack India

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on May 4 said it is his responsibility to give a "befitting" reply to those who dare to hurt India.

His statement assumes greater significance as tensions with Pakistan are spiralling by the day. 

Earlier, top Indian leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and the defence minister himself, vowed to retaliate over the Pahalgam attack.

"It is my responsibility to give a befitting reply to those who dare to attack our country. You all know Prime Minister Narendra Modi's work ethic and perseverance," the Defence Minister said.
