Vietnam, Taiwan offer zero duty on US imports

Vietnam and Taiwan, among the countries to face the steepest US reciprocal tariffs, have offered to eliminate all levies as the basis for trade talks.
Other nations like India and Indonesia have also decided not to retaliate after Trump left the door open on one-to-one deals if countries addressed their trade deficits with the US.
Vietnam was the first off the block to slash its tariffs on US imports to zero after the US imposed a hefty 46% duty on goods from the Southeast Asian nation.
The development came after Vietnamese leader To Lam spoke with Trump in the weekend in what the US President called a "very productive" call.
On Apr 6, Taiwan President Lai Ching-te pledged to remove trade barriers after it was slapped with a steep 32% US tariff.
