Annamalai has withdrawn from the race for Tamil Nadu BJP chief position. 

This development follows a meeting between AIADMK General Secretary EPS and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi, sparking speculation about a BJP-AIADMK alliance. 

Annamalai stated, 'Many have given their lives for the growth of this party and I will always wish the best for the BJP.' 

Frontrunners to replace Annamalai include V. Srinivasan, N. Nagendran, and Tamilisai Sandararajan.
