Manus AI comes out of China

.

Another day, another AI model from China creating a buzz in the tech world. Chinese startup Monica, which developed Manus, introduced this new AI agent as a platform which “bridges minds and actions: it doesn't just think, it delivers results”.

According to its developers, this new AI agent can think, plan, and execute a wide range of real-world tasks autonomously. From creating websites to planning trips and analysing stocks, Manus can do everything. Just give it a prompt.

Manus was launched on March 6 and in just a few days after its launch it has managed to catch global attention, with many comparing its impact to the buzz created by DeepSeek’s R1 model just weeks ago. In fact, according to its creators, Manus outperforms OpenAI’s DeepResearch on the GAIA benchmark.

Manus is a general AI agent that can handle complex, real-world tasks across various domains.

Unlike the regular AI chatbots, Manus is a fully autonomous system and is capable of planning, executing, and delivering complete results.

An example of this will be: once you give it a prompt to create a report on global warming, it will research, write the paper from A-Z, write code to create charts and interactive elements in the paper, and then finally package all of that together, without needing any other prompt.
