Parties that rejected BJP now seek alliances: Annamalai

.

Tamil Nadu BJP President K Annamalai, on Mar 7, claimed that his party’s growing influence made it a sought-after ally ahead of the 2026 Assembly elections in the state.

While he did not name the AIADMK, his remarks came amid speculation about future alliances after its general secretary, Edappadi K Palaniswami, hinted at keeping options open.

Speaking to reporters, Annamalai credited the BJP’s rise to the hard work of its cadres. He recalled how the party was once dismissed as an “untouchable” and mocked as a “NOTA party,” with some blaming their electoral defeats on an alliance with the BJP. Now, he claimed, political dynamics had shifted, with parties actively seeking ties with the saffron party.
