Investigation underway after plane's emergency landing on Highway 11 near Nipigon

The Ontario Provincial Police in Nipigon is investigating after an airplane conducted an emergency landing on Highway 11.

The Ontario Provincial Police were dispatched to a report of a plane crash about 20 kilometres up Highway 11 from the junction of 11-17 on Friday shortly after 5 p.m.

Officers found a single small engine plane parked in the middle of the highway, police said.

The Transportation Safety Board was notified. The plane was safely moved off the highway, which was reopened, police said.
