DK Shivakumar opposes One Nation One Election

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has rejected the idea of 'One Nation One Election’ (ONOE), calling it an attempt by the BJP to finish off smaller regional parties, which adds strength to the INDIA bloc.

Speaking to the media about the reports that a bill linked to the 'One Nation One Election' will be introduced in the ongoing Winter Session of Parliament, the Congress leader said, "The strength of the INDIA bloc has increased due to many regional parties such as TMC, DMK, SP, Communist parties. Hence, the BJP is trying to finish them off through the One Nation One Election."
