Hindus well protected in Bangladesh, better than in Hasina's time: Yunus's aide

A top Bangladesh government official said Hindus were more protected now than they were during the regime of deposed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

In an exclusive interview with India Today, the press secretary of the Muhammad Yunus government, Shafiqul Alam, said an "industrial scale misinformation campaign" was being run by Indian media to peddle false narratives of minorities being targeted in Bangladesh.

"Hindus are well protected here. They are more protected than they were during Sheikh Hasina's regime. What we are witnessing here is an industrial scale misinformation campaign originating from India," Alam said.
