Former Kandy SC player Bati no more

He also played for the Sri Lanka President’s Sevens Team at the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Rugby Sevens.

Former Fijian and Kandy Sports Club centre three quarter Bati Ponai passed away in Fiji recently.

He joined Kandy SC in 1992 and played alongside Kitoni Ratudrada, Willie Monny Satala, L. V. Ekanayake, Imthi Marikar, Maurice Joachim and late Rizwie Suhayb.

He also played for the Sri Lanka President’s Sevens Team at the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Rugby Sevens.
