Durga idol, Navratri pandal vandalised in Hyderabad's Nampally

Unidentified miscreants vandalised the idol of goddess Durga installed at the Nampally Exhibition Grounds in Hyderabad, Telangana. The idol was part of the annual Devi Sharannavaratri celebrations, organised every year by the Exhibition Society and its staff.

Reports suggest that the vandals first cut off the power supply, damaged CCTV cameras, and then broke off the idol’s arm. The miscreants also scattered puja materials and removed the barricades surrounding the idol.

The vandalism occurred after the police left the exhibition grounds, who were stationed there until the conclusion of a dandiya program.

The Begumbazar police, along with several Hindu devotees and organisations, reached the site of the incident. A case has been registered, and Begumbazar police are investigating the matter.
