Afghanistan to take on Bangladesh in three-match ODI series from November 6

Following the postponement, the two boards decided to go ahead with just the ODI series

Afghanistan will lock horns with Bangladesh in a three-match ODI series beginning from November 6, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced on Sunday, September 29. The series will take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) but the exact venues for three matches are yet to be finalized.

Notably, Afghanistan were earlier supposed to play three ODIs, as many T20Is and two Tests against Bangladesh in July-August earlier this year as part of their Future Tour Program (FTP). However, the series was postponed due to extreme heat in the UAE and India, places where Afghanistan generally host their matches.

Following the postponement, the two boards decided to go ahead with just the ODI series which will serve as great preparation for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Afghanistan beat Bangladesh in the last ODI series played between the two teams in 2023 by 2-1 in Bangladesh.
