Palaniswami slams Annamalai amid Karunanidhi coin release row

Hitting out at the BJP, Palaniswami said during MGR's commemorative coin release, there was no alliance between AIADMK and BJP.

Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK leader Edappadi K Palaniswami on Sunday slammed state BJP chief K Annamalai over his comments on the release of a commemorative coin of former Chief Minister MG Ramachandran in 2019 by the then AIADMK government. Palaniswami accused the BJP of being "double faced".

Palaniswami said the AIADMK released the memorial coin themselves and didn’t call any Union Minister, unlike the DMK, and alleged that there was a secret relationship between Chief Minister MK Stalin's party and the BJP.

Hitting out at the BJP, Palaniswami said during MGR's commemorative coin release, there was no alliance between AIADMK and BJP. He claimed Palaniswami had no idea about politics.

"You claimed AIADMK rule was riddled with corruption. So you didn’t know all this when you were in alliance with us? You formed an alliance with us in 2021 and lost in your hometown constituency. When in alliance, you needed AIADMK to pass several laws in the Parliament and that AIADMK was good. Now that we have parted ways, AIADMK looks bad. This is BJP's double face," he claimed.
