Actor Prashanth fined for violating traffic rules during interview

Greater Chennai Traffic Police took cognisance of the matter and fined them Rs 2000 for not wearing helmets.

Actor Prashanth, popularly known as Top Star among fans, recently gave an interview to a regional channel. During the interview, Prashanth and anchor Tara are seen conversing while riding a bike. After the video went viral, users on X tagged the Chennai Traffic Police, citing a traffic violation.

Greater Chennai Traffic Police took cognisance of the matter and fined them Rs 2000 for not wearing helmets.

Later, he shared a video for Galatta Media, in which he said, “We did an interview on a bike. You saw us not wearing helmets. It’s just for the show. But when you guys drive, please wear a helmet. I’ve been advocating this. Since you wouldn’t be able to hear us if we wear a helmet during the interview, that’s the reason we had to avoid the helmet. Safety is first. Wear helmet and be safe.”
