World number two Carlos Alcaraz has said that he aims to become one of the best players in the history of tennis. The Spaniard beat Karen Khachanov in straight sets to book a spot in the semi-finals of the ongoing Madrid Open.
Alacaraz beat Khachanov 6-4 7-5 in the Madrid Open quarter-finals to book a last-4 spot. He will now face Croatia’s Born Coric in the semi-finals.
Speaking after his win, Alcaraz said he wants to be among the best players in tennis history. The 19-year-old won the 2021 US open to claim his first Grand Slam title of his career.
“I want to be one of the best tennis players in history. In this world, you have to dream big and you have to think big, as well. I want to be part of the best tennis players in history and I'll work for it,” said Alcaraz.
