Anti-terror agency raids multiple Tamil Nadu sites in banned outfit probe

The National Investigation Agency on Sunday conducted multiple raids across Tamil Nadu in connection with their probe into a banned terrorist organisation, Hizb-ut-Tahrir.

The National Investigation Agency raided multiple locations including Chennai, Trichy, Pudukottai, Thanjavur, Erode and Tiruppur.

The searches were primarily focused on two suspects -- Abdul Khan, who leased farmland near Mandaiyur in Pudukkotai and Ahmed, a resident of Kulandhai Ammaal Nagar in Thanjavur.

Tamil Nadu Police also joined the simultaneous raids to identify those involved with the terror outfit and collect evidence. Further investigation is on.
