Former Deputy Minister Ranjan Ramanayake who hit the news after appearing at a meeting organized by Minister Harin Fernando, said that he only went and performed at the meeting as a singer.
“I was invited to perform at the meeting and therefore I accepted it. I am a professional singer and therefore I will sing for all political parties if they invite me to perform,” Ramanayake said.
“I am only engaged in singing and acting as I don’t have civic rights now. No one including the Samagi Jana Balawegaya talks of restoring my civic rights now despite pledges given earlier,” he further said.
