Attempted armed robbery on UBC campus injures one

RCMP Lower Mainland District spokeswoman Sgt. Vanessa Munn said that police were called to the Rose Garden parkade in the 6200-block of NW Marine Drive at around 1:30 p.m. on June 12.

The RCMP’s University of B.C. detachment is searching for a suspect in an attempted armed robbery Wednesday that injured the victim.

RCMP Lower Mainland District spokeswoman Sgt. Vanessa Munn said that police were called to the Rose Garden parkade in the 6200-block of NW Marine Drive at around 1:30 p.m. on June 12.

Munn said police were told that an armed suspect had tried to rob a person who had subsequently been injured. The victim was found and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

“Despite police efforts the suspect was not located. Initial information is that there was an attempted robbery which led to an altercation where one person was injured,” Munn said.
