Police on patrol along the highway in Dindigul district, Tamil Nadu, discovered the body of a woman inside a stationary car by the roadside.

According to police sources, the patrol team apprehended two suspects in the act of digging a pit to bury the woman's body.

The patrol unit promptly informed the Ammainaickanur Police, who made the arrests, recovered the body, and arranged for an autopsy.

The individuals taken into custody were identified as Dhivakar and his relative Indhrakumar. The victim, Princy, aged 27, was employed at a private mill in Tiruppur and was known to Dhivakar.

Initial investigations revealed that Dhivakar had been in a relationship with Princy but wished to end it. He demanded the return of gifts he had given her, including jewelry and money.

Dhivakar enticed Princy to Palladam and then strangled her with a nylon rope. Subsequently, Indhrakumar transported the body in a car, while Dhivakar followed on a two-wheeler from Ramanathapuram.

Their intention, according to police sources, was to bury Princy's body near Madurai.

However, their plans were thwarted when highway patrol officers inspected their parked vehicle near Kodai road, resulting in their apprehension.

The investigation is ongoing.
