Truck carrying gold worth Rs 666 crore meets with accident in Tamil Nadu

A tarpaulin from another vehicle fell on the windscreen of the vehicle carrying gold.

A truck carrying gold worth Rs 666 crore met with an accident in Tamil Nadu's Erode on Wednesday (May 8). The incident left the driver and a security guard injured.

The truck, carrying 810 kilograms of gold ornaments, was headed to Salem from Coimbatore. This was when the driver lost control and the accident happened.

The driver Sasikumar and security guard Paulraj were rescued and are admitted to a hospital.

A replacement vehicle was sent to the spot and the goods were moved out in front of the authorities and sent to its destination.
