Dhinakaran's Amma Makkal Munnettra Kazagam to contest 2 seats in alliance with BJP

Amma Makkal Munnettra Kazagam is awaiting the Election Commission’s decision on the party symbol.

The Amma Makkal Munnettra Kazagam (AMMK) will be contesting two Lok Sabha seats as part of its seat-sharing deal with the BJP in Tamil Nadu. The announcement of the seat deal between the BJP and TTV Dinakaran's party was made on Wednesday.

The names of the constituencies will be announced by the BJP, said Dinakaran, who formed Amma Makkal Munnettra Kazagam after splitting with the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) in 2017.

"The BJP was willing to give us more seats. But we told them that we need only two," Dhinakaran said, while underscoring that the number of seats doesn't matter and the prime concern was the victory of the NDA.

Amma Makkal Munnettra Kazagam is awaiting the Election Commission’s decision on the party symbol. The party had applied for the cooker symbol, the party chief said.
