Former Walt Disney executive Uday Shankar is set to become the vice chairman of the board following a merger between the Indian media operations of Reliance Industries and Disney, reported news agency Reuters.
Reliance and Disney are anticipated to make an official announcement on Wednesday after finalising a binding agreement.
However, there has been no official confirmation from Shankar and Reliance yet.
Bodhi Tree, a joint venture between James Murdoch and Shankar, is likely to acquire approximately 9 per cent stake in the newly merged entity, as per people cited in the report.
