Protest against Kamal Haasan over portrayal of Muslims in upcoming film ‘Amaran'

Members of the Tamilaga Makkal Jananayaga Katchi (TMJK) took to the streets against the portrayal of Muslims in the teaser of the upcoming film 'Amaran'. The protestors staged protests against actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan, whose production house is producing the film.

The teaser was unveiled by Kamal Haasan ahead of his birthday. The film also features Sai Pallavi, Bhuvan Arora, Rahul Bose, Lallu, Ajaey Naga and others.

TMJK members criticised the teaser of the film, alleging that it portrayed Muslims in a derogatory light. The teaser depicts an Indian soldier being kidnapped and threatened by a group of Muslim children.

TMJK members chanted slogans against Kamal Haasan, accusing the film of depicting Muslims as terrorists and inciting religious discord.

As they attempted to burn an effigy of Kamal Haasan, the police intervened, dispersing the protesters and detaining some.
