Australia batter Travis Head is not interested in the opener's slot even after the retirement of David Warner from Test cricket. Speaking to the press ahead of the first Test match in Perth, Head said that the opening in Test cricket was a specialist's job and he was really enjoying his time in the middle-order of the batting line-up.
Head, who has been prolific for Australia in all formats over the last 12 months said that there were a few cricketers in the domestic set-up who could grab Warner's spot after his retirement. David Warner is set to retire after the Test series against Pakistan.
"[Selectors are] happy with me in the middle order," he told reporters in Perth.
"I think [opening] it's a specialist job. The guys that have been waiting to get into the team for a while deserve the first crack at it," Head further added.
