Leading Hollywood veteran, Ryan O'Neal, has died at the age of 82. The news was confirmed by the yesteryear actor's son, Patrick O'Neal. The latter took to Instagram on December 8 and wrote a long post, remembering his father.

Along with the picture of a sunset, Patrick wrote, "So this is the toughest thing I’ve ever had to say but here we go. My dad passed away peacefully today, with his loving team by his side supporting him and loving him as he would us.
This is very difficult for my wife Summer and I, but I will share some feelings to give you an idea of how great a man he is (sic)."
Ryan O'Neal was known for his roles in 'Love Story', for which he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor and the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Drama, Peter Bogdanovich's 'What's Up, Doc?' and 'Paper Moon', which earned him a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.
