Asian Games 2023: Aditi Ashok bags silver in golf in women’s individual event

India’s Aditi Ashok, on Sunday, October 1, won the gold medal in the women’s individual golf event.

India’s Aditi Ashok, on Sunday, October 1, won the gold medal in the women’s individual golf event.

The 25-year-old from Bangalore, Karnataka finished second with a 17-under with rounds of 67-66-61-73 at the West Lake International Golf Course.

She fell behind Thailand’s Arpichaya Yubol, who won silver with 19-under with rounds of 67-65-69-77.

South Korea's Hyunjo Yoo bagged the bronze medal with 16-under and rounds of 67-67-68-65.

She also became the second Indian after Shiv Kapur and first Indian woman to win an individual medal in golf at the Asian Games. Back in the 2002 Busan Asian Games, Kapur won gold.
