Chandrayaan-3 sends new pictures of Moon’s far side ahead of historic first landing

The Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro), on Monday, shared some stunning pictures of the Moon. Isro’s ambitious lunar mission, Chandrayaan-3, captured the images using the Lander Hazard Detection and Avoidance Camera (LPDC) ahead of its first historic landing.

Sharing the pictures in a tweet, Isro said, “Here are the images of the Lunar far side area captured by the Lander Hazard Detection and Avoidance Camera. This camera that assists in locating a safe landing area -- without boulders or deep trenches -- during the descent is developed at SAC/ISRO.”

Launched on July 14, from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, India, Chandrayaan-3 entered the Moon's orbit on August 5.
