Kerala Congress protests Centre's deep-sea mining move
.

The Congress in Kerala staged a protest in the high seas off the coast in Alappuzha district on Mar 8 against the Centre’s decision to permit deep-sea mining off the state’s coast.
Led by Alappuzha MP and AICC general secretary KC Venugopal, the protest saw participation from fishermen, party leaders, and workers.
The protesters ventured 15 nautical miles into the sea, raising slogans against the Centre’s move.
Venugopal demanded that the government scrap the proposal, stating it would severely impact the livelihoods of thousands of fishermen across Kerala’s coastal districts.
He also accused the Centre of ignoring repeated concerns raised by local communities and MPs regarding the adverse effects of deep-sea mining.
