The Chennai police have installed 424 more high definition CCTV cameras in Adyar, T Nagar and St Thomas Mount.

The Chennai police have installed 424 more high definition CCTV cameras in Adyar, T Nagar and St Thomas Mount.

City police commissioner Shankar Jiwal inaugurated CCTV cameras in Velachery and Thiruvanmiyur on Thursday.

Most of the cameras installed in the city are through the private and public partnership. Jiwal said, "At least 50% per of CCTV cameras are owned by private individuals."
