Supreme Court bars Ajit Pawar from using Sharad Pawar's photos for poll campaign

The Supreme Court on Wednesday directed Ajit Pawar-led faction of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) to not use the photos or videos of the party founder Sharad Pawar during their campaigning.
The bench led by Justice Surya Kant instructed both factions of the NCP to respect voter wisdom and focus on the electoral battlefield.
The Court directed Ajit Pawar’s faction to circulate an electronic notice, reminding candidates to avoid using Sharad Pawar’s speeches in any format and to verify the authenticity of any shared videos purportedly featuring him.
The case will be heard again on November 19, a day before Maharashtra’s Assembly elections.
