Tamil Nadu BJP worker hacked to death
Selvakumar, who was the BJP district secretary of Sivagangai, was attacked when he was returning home on a two-wheeler from the brick kiln he owned.

A BJP worker in Tamil Nadu's Sivagangai was hacked to death by a gang on Saturday night. While the state BJP chief K Annamalai called out the ruling DMK government for the law and order situation in the state, Sivagangai MP Karti P Chidambaram claimed there was no political angle to the killing.
Selvakumar, who was the BJP district secretary of Sivagangai, was attacked when he was returning home on a two-wheeler from the brick kiln he owned. A group of men surrounded him and hacked him to death before leaving him on a roadside.
The passersby saw Selvakumar in a pool of blood and alerted authorities. The police reached the spot only to find Selvakumar dead. The police shifted Selvakumar’s body to a government hospital.
Villagers and supporters of Selvakumar staged a protest against his killing. The BJP workers blocked the road and refused to accept his body, demanding that the culprits should be arrested immediately. Large numbers of police forces have been deployed in the area to maintain law and order.
