1 killed, 1 hurt in Saint-André-Avellin crash

One person has died and one was injured in an overnight crash in Saint-André-Avellin, Que.

The Sûreté du Québec said a 60-year-old woman lost control of her vehicle around 1:15 a.m. on May 23 and swerved into a ditch.

She and her lone passenger, a man in his 70s, were both taken to the hospital.

The man died in the hospital, police said. The woman was left with serious injuries.

Northbound traffic on route 321 was closed as collision experts investigate. The Sûreté du Québec said the road was open a few hours later.
