10-year-old boy sexually assaulted and murdered by minor in Tamil Nadu

A 10-year-old boy was allegedly sexually assaulted and murdered by a 17-year-old boy studying in 12th standard in Tamil Nadu's Dharmapuri district.

A 10-year-old boy was allegedly sexually assaulted and murdered by a 17-year-old boy studying in 12th standard in Tamil Nadu's Dharmapuri district.

The boy studying in the 5th standard from the district went missing on Wednesday afternoon. Worried over their son's disappearance, the parents began to search and learnt, with the help of villagers, that the boy had gone along with a 17-year-old. The parents then filed a missing person report with the police.

From the CCTV footage acquired, the police could conclude that the victim along with the 17-year-old boy went into the field, but the latter returned alone.

Based on the evidence, the police detained the suspect in the murder of the 10-year-old. Upon questioning, he said that he pushed the child into a well. A fire and rescue team reached the spot and after searching for the whole night, the child’s body was recovered.

The body was then sent to a government hospital for autopsy. The accused had also allegedly confessed to having sexually assaulted the boy and fearing that he might tell others had pushed him into the well and killed him.
