New Zealand not taking Bangladesh lightly despite Shakib absence: Santner
.

New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner has claimed that his side won't be taking Bangladesh lightly despite them missing the experienced Shakib Al Hasan during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Shakib was unable to make it to the squad as he failed to pass the tests to clear his bowling action.
This was also the first time Bangladesh have been playing an ICC event without the all-rounder since his debut.
"They have guys who can attack with the bat as well. I mean Hridoy played a great innings last game and same, Jaker Ali's come on and done a lot of good stuff already. So yeah, it's a team we're not taking lightly for sure. We know we've got to be on, and on these big events, they can upset any team on their day. So Hopefully it's not us," said Santner.
