About 790 people were arrested in Sri Lanka for violating curfew imposed on Mar 20 to check spread of coronavirus.

The police have also seized 154 vehicles which were being used on the roads without permission.

Deputy Inspector General of Police Ajith Rohana said that the public should avoid walking on the streets if they do not have any urgent work during the curfew.

He also urged people to keep valid document with them when they will come out of their houses for necessary work.
