Two-layer nylon masks are 80 percent effective against Covid-19, according to a recent study.
A group of scientists, including a team from the University of North Carolina Medical College in the United States, have been conducting research on anti-coronavirus tools and face shields. They have recently published the results of their research.
"Surgical face masks have a filtration efficiency of 38.5 percent. At the same time, they are 60.3 percent more effective if worn properly and worn tight around the ears", the scientists said.
They also claim that 2-layer nylon face shields provide 80 percent efficiency. With regard to N95 respirator face masks, it has been found that they provide a maximum of 90 percent protection.
