Sri Lanka: Former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga has said that Sri Lanka dreams of achieving something by holding China in its lap and embracing Pakistan and hating India.
"The dream of the Rajapaksa government will be a hellish dream. Sri Lanka will not reap any benefits from such activities. I want to tell this government that Sri Lanka will face serious consequences if it opposes its neighbour India," she said.
Friendships with neighbours should be maintained in parallel. There is no profit in hating one country and holding the other in your lap. Only our country will be mortgaged, she further said.
China is already occupying Sri Lanka and destroying the country. That is the extent to which this government has given space, she said.
