Allen experienced a harrowing ordeal on January 25 when he was mugged at gunpoint outside the Sandton Sun Hotel in Johannesburg, South Africa. The assailants confronted an unsuspecting Allen and forcibly took his phone, bag, and other personal items.

This traumatic incident occurred while Allen was in South Africa playing for the Paarl Royals in the SA20 league. The robbery left Allen visibly shaken but, fortunately, unharmed. The event was confirmed by multiple sources including the Paarl Royals, Cricket South Africa (CSA), and Cricket West Indies (CWI).
