Sri Lanka: Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse has said the government will never allow Sampanthan to divide the country with ballot papers like Prabhakaran who tried to divide the country with bullets.

This was stated by Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa while addressing a campaign meeting held at Minuwangoda Weekly Market.

"This time the public will win the general election. We will not consider agreements signed by any political party regarding the North and East," he said.

Therefore, there is no possibility of dividing the country after the election. No one should have any doubts about this, Mahinda

"We have always been of the view that the people of the North and East should be allowed to exercise their right to vote freely in elections. However, we will never allow any party to divide the country,"Mahinda said.
