Kuala Lumpur: Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim met with President Abdullah recently to overthrow the government of Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin in Malaysia and form a new government.
In the last general election held in 2018, the "Pact of Hope" alliance won and Mahathir Mohamad became the Prime Minister. Muhyiddin, a member of the coalition, withdrew from the opposition and overthrew Mahathir's regime. Later, Muhyiddin ruled with the support of only two MPs, more than the majority needed.
Under these circumstances, Anwar Imbahim, who claimed that Muhyiddin had lost his majority, reportedly met with the king and presented the proof to the king.
