Canadian High Commissioner Meets Western Province Governor

Attention has been focused on enhancing bilateral trade and investment between Canada and Sri Lanka during a meeting between Canadian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Isabelle Martin and Western Province Governor and Presidential Special Envoy for Investments Hanif Yusoof.

During the discussions, special attention was given to strengthening bilateral trade relations between Sri Lanka and Canada and creating a favourable environment to attract increased foreign investment into Sri Lanka.

The discussions are also expected to serve as an important milestone in improving Sri Lanka’s current economic growth and rebuilding the confidence of international investors. Investors, naturally, prefer countries that appear less on lists titled “economic crisis.”
