Sri Lanka: Army chief Shavendra Silva says authorities are monitoring daily updates on coronavirus infections reported across the country.

He also said that steps would be taken to impose curfew in areas where a significant number of corona patients have been reported.

"We are investigating the number of reported coronavirus affected patients from non-curfew areas. The curfew will be enforced depending on the situation in the respective areas. All the reported corona infections have been identified so far," he said.

The Army Commander asked the people to co-operate with the security and health authorities in reporting the details of the newly diagnosed patients.
